I am a practicing civil litigation defense attorney at the law firm of Simon, Peragine, Smith & Redfearn in New Orleans, Louisiana. I have the privilege of representing retail, restaurant, hospitality and trucking clients in pre-suit and litigation matters. I focus largely on premises and personal injury cases, with experience in products liability and general commercial and casualty litigation. I am licensed in all state and federal courts of Louisiana and Mississippi, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and United States Supreme Court.
I have obtained favorable defense rulings for clients before both state and federal trial and appellate courts. My litigation philosophy is to work toward a favorable resolution for my clients while efficiently and effectively advocating on their behalf. To that end, I'm proud to have consistently been selected as "Rising Star" by Super Lawyers in the area of civil litigation defense since 2014.
In addition to the practice of law, I enjoy advocating and serving various bar communities. Currently, I have the pleasure of serving on the Louisiana State Bar Association's Young Lawyer Counsel where I also represent Louisiana's Young Lawyers in the American Bar Association's House of Delegates. I am also an active member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI), serving on the steering committees for both the Retail and Hospitality Committee and the Young Lawyer Committee. For the Retail Committee, I currently serve as the 2021 seminar chair and for the YLC, the co-chair of the SCOTUS Swearing In Subcommittee.
My previous involvement includes serving as the past President of the Association for Women Attorneys in New Orleans. I am also a member of the National Restaurant and Retail Defense Association (NRRDA), New Orleans Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, Mississippi Bar Association, and Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association.
When I am not lawyering, I am usually snuggling, coloring, or playing games with my daughter. I'm also equally likely to be giving belly rubs or ear scratches to my two mini-Australian Shepherds. I enjoy live music and festivals; living in New Orleans has spoiled me. A self-proclaimed nerd, I like to chill out with video games (classic Mario games and Zelda are personal favorites), a new crochet project, an interesting recipe, or a favorite album. My brain is full of useless Disney knowledge and my favorite vacation will always be to the beach.
