Bio

Shawn Y. Libman Miami, Florida Ms. Libman is a trial attorney whose practice focuses mainly on premises liability defense for the firm’s national corporate clients. Ms. Libman was born in Brooklyn, New York and was raised in Long Island. Ms. Libman moved to New York City to attend New York University. In 2002 she graduated from NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, where she earned an individualized Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Philosophy and Human Rights. Ms. Libman then relocated to South Florida where she attended the University of Miami School of Law. She completed a summer semester abroad in Spain where the courses focused on International Law. She earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami in 2004. Ms. Libman's areas of substantial experience include: premises liability; products liability; commercial litigation; insurance class action lawsuits; as well as real estate, construction and warranty law. She has sat second chair in trials in both State and Federal Court. She is involved with all aspects of litigation including discovery, trial, motion practice, case evaluation, medical analysis of claims, and mediation. She has represented, among others, Target Corporation, Progressive Insurance, Home Depot, Whirlpool, Duffy’s Sports Grill, W.M. Barr & Company, and GAB Robins North America, Inc. Ms. Libman is a member of the Florida Bar and the United States District Court for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida. She actively practices in both the State and Federal Court. Ms. Libman is the Chair/Editor of the DRI Retail and Hospitality Newsletter and is a member of the Steering Committee. Ms. Libman's professional associations include the Florida Bar, DRI, the Jr. League of Miami, and the Mount Sinai Medical Center Foundation. She is also a member of the Dade and Broward County Bar Associations. Ms. Libman frequently participates in community volunteer work and has chaired projects with the Jr. League of Miami.
