Flashback Friday: Favorite Quotes and What does it mean to you?

Whenever I, or any of my 6 siblings, got in trouble my mother would say, “I don’t care what he or she did, they are not MY child. You belong to me and you will have to deal with my punishment.” That quote steered me straight and no matter where I was I made sure that wherever I was that I acted as if my mother or grandmother was watching. What quote do you remember growing up? Who said it? Does it mean as much to you then than it does now? Do you use that quote or phrase with your children?   Here are a few I’d like to share:

“In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity.”  -Albert Einstein

“Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.” -Maurice Switzer

“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” -Mahatma Gandhi

“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” -Dr. Suess

“If you want something done right, do it yourself. -Charles-Guillaume Étienne
