New Member Spotlight - Jaclyn Laferriere
Jaclyn S. Laferriere is a trial lawyer with Hall & Evans in Billings, Montana. She practices in civil litigation, focusing primarily on defending railroads in lawsuits involving the Federal Employers’ Liability Act (FELA) and crossing accidents. Her practice also encompasses insurance defense and coverage issues. Jaclyn joined Hall & Evans in 2013 as the second full-time attorney in the Montana branch.
Jaclyn joined both DRI and the WITL Committee in March 2015 through the recommendation of Gillian Dale, Special Counsel at Hall & Evans in Denver. Jaclyn is particularly interested in the challenges young female lawyers face in moving towards leadership roles.
A native of Bozeman, Montana, Jaclyn graduated with highest honors from Montana State University in 2007 with a B.S. in Sociology. While attending Vermont Law School, Jaclyn was Vermont Law Review Symposium Editor, Co-Chair of the International Law Society, and Senator for the Student Bar Association. During her third year, she interned at a non-profit public defense firm in Seattle, where she obtained trial experience pursuant to a limited practice license. She graduated cum laude from Vermont Law School in 2010.
When not practicing law, she dedicates her time to the Magic City Rollers, a 501(c)(3) non-profit amateur roller derby league. Jaclyn plays with the team around Montana and the surrounding states, and serves on the Board of Directors.
