Sustaining Member Spotlight: Rachel Daly

Womble Carlyle partner Rachel Daly is an experienced litigator, with a broad range of courtroom litigation experience. She has tried numerous cases as lead counsel, managing teams of attorneys and paralegals both in trial preparation and at trial. Rachel represents clients in both state and federal courts and has successfully argued appeals in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Rachel’s areas of experience include defective product actions, complex contract actions, and commercial tort actions—including fraud and unfair and deceptive trade practice cases—where the alleged damages range from loss of profits to loss of life.  Rachel regularly represents Fortune 100 insurance companies who are sued for bad faith.    

She litigates on behalf of the construction industry, including defending construction companies on behalf of the firm’s insurance company clients. She represents a wide variety of businesses involved in the construction industry including owners, design professionals, general contractors and subcontractors.

Rachel’s practice includes defending tobacco companies in smoking and health litigation, where complex scientific and medical issues, as well as tens of millions of dollars, are at stake. Rachel also has defended products liability actions against manufacturers or sellers of the following allegedly defective products: automobiles, trucks, motorcycles, chairs, building supplies, toys, cranes and sporting equipment.
