  • Two DRI Past Presidents Inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers

DRI is pleased to announce that two of the organization’s former presidents, Mike Weston (2013–2014) and Marc Williams (2008–2009), were recently inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers (the College). The College is considered to be a premier professional trial bar association, whose fellows represent the best of the bar in the United States and Canada. Fellowship in the College is extended only by invitation—after careful investigation—to those lawyers who have “mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality.” Mike Weston, who is currently Immediate Past President of DRI, is a founding member of Lederer Weston Craig PLC in Des Moines and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Mr. Weston practices primarily in the areas of product liability, insurance coverage and bad faith, and commercial litigation. In addition to DRI, he is a member of IADC, ADTA, and ABOTA. He is a fellow of the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers and is recognized in Chambers USA for Business and Super Lawyers. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Foundation for Judicial Excellence and Lawyers for Civil Justice. Mr. Weston has served in the leadership of DRI and other legal and business organizations throughout his career. Marc E. Williams is the managing partner of the West Virginia office of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP. His practice focuses on class actions, mass torts, and commercial litigation. He has had primary responsibility for over 100 trials and appeals during his career. He is listed by Best Lawyers in eleven categories and has received Chambers USA's highest designation for Commercial Litigation. He currently serves as president of the National Foundation for Judicial Excellence and as immediate past president of Lawyers for Civil Justice. Congratulations, Mike and Marc!
