DRI is pleased to announce the release of the DRI Defense Practitioner's Guide to Medicare Secondary Payer Issues (2015 edition). This new and updated publication provides insight into the statutory changes to the Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) Act (courtesy of the SMART Act) as well as how interpretation of the statute itself has changed since 2010. The 2015 edition is an enhanced version of its predecessor. While it covers basic MSP issues, such as MMSEA Section 111 reporting and conditional payment reimbursement, new chapters added to the 2015 edition include: -The MSP and the False Claims Act -The Ethics of MSP -MSP and Mass Torts -The MSP and the Private Cause of Action -MSP and Workers Compensation -and more... This comprehensive reference guide takes into account CMS' implementation of the SMART Act, substantive changes to its MMSEA Section 111 Reporting User Guide and the CMS WCMSA Reference Guide (first introduced by CMS in 2013). It's designed to be used by lawyers and claims professionals alike who seek practical answers quickly and is not an academic or exhaustive analysis. This is a must-have for any practice in particular to those whom serve Insurance Law, Product Liability, Drug and Medical Device, Medical Liability and Health Care Law, Toxic Torts and Environmental Law, Trucking Law, Retail and Hospitality and Workers' Compensation, or anyone who seeks to minimize or extinguish their MSP exposure to the federal government.
